What is Masking Tape?

Masking tape is a kind of adhesive tape that can be removed without residue. It can be used to protect part of the surface during spraying and painting, block paint, paint, dust, etc. it can also be used to protect parts and components in electronic equipment, isolate dust, static electricity, etc.

 

 

Masking tape is used in automobiles, electronics, aircraft, ships, rail locomotives, construction, interior decoration, and other industries. Meet the needs of various shielding and protection applications, such as high or medium temperature spray shielding, sandblasting shielding, electroplating shielding, electronic equipment parts protection, household temporary fixing, etc.

Generally speaking, the structure of masking tape is divided into four layers

2. The second layer is the backing material, which provides the physical properties of the tape structure.

 

3. The third layer is the primer treatment layer, which is used to increase the adhesion of the adhesive to the backing material and avoid residual adhesive.

 

4. The lowest layer is the adhesive layer, which provides bonding to the bonded surface, and is also a very important part of the tape structure.

1. When in use, the base material is easy to be torn by hand, and the basic requirement of blue masking tape for painting is that it does not need to be cut with a knife. This is helpful to improve the work efficiency during the construction process, especially the curing tape and cloth base tape based on PE woven cloth, the special longitudinal fine fiber weaving process, and the hand tearing section is neat.

3. The side edge of the adhesive layer has a good effect. Remove the adhesive tape after masking, and the side edge line is straight.

 

4. The adhesive layer has strong cohesion, and the most important performance is to tear off the adhesive without residue. The special adhesive for blue masking tape for painting shall have good initial adhesion and shall be firmly pasted without warping during construction. After 1-4 weeks of curing after construction, the masking tape shall be removed, and no residual glue shall be left on the covered surface. This is also an effect that ordinary cheap adhesive tape cannot meet. Only high-quality glue can meet the requirements.
